Frederick Allen Lodge’s Jazz BBQ Is Always The Real Deal
SARATOGA SPRINGS – “I KNOW what a risk I’m taking – recommending BBQ to a native Arkansian!” said I to Keeley DiSalvo, owner of Savory Pantry, at her tasting bash the night before (see Post HERE. She laughed as if saying ‘Oh yes, you are!’
But really, there was no risk at all. For on this one afternoon/evening – Saturday, October 7 – the best BBQ to be found anywhere, let alone Saratoga Springs, emerged from the tongs of Grill Master Joe Moore, as the Frederick Allen Lodge and Mary Carter Temple (corner of Beekman and Oak Sts.) once again rocked the house with great eats, great times, great fellowship and friendship among all peoples – at its annual Jazz BBQ event that serves as a fundraiser for the historic Lodge’s ongoing restoration project.
That’s enough chatter – let’s get to the food, Mister! And you can work it off by dancing….
As delicious as the food was, what was most nourishing was the vibe – a diverse society coming together. Good times a rollin’ on the West Side! I’m excited to say there’s only 350+ days till the next one!
