SARATOGA SPRINGS – Plum + Crimson Fine Interior Design has done it again! Designer Jessica Doyle details how it was done:
Before: “Our client purchased this beautiful home originally built in 1937, with just over 4,000 sq. ft in the Slingerlands. The client’s main goal was to make this house feel like home for their family and to give the entire house an updated look.”
After: “To achieve an updated look the first thing we did was address the architectural elements already in the house. We started by refinishing all of the hardwood floors in the house with a dark ebony stain and then painted all of the beautiful moldings and wainscoting white. Painting the architectural moldings white provided a nice contrast with the dark floors and also gave the room a clean and contemporary look. We added a stunning hand blown glass chandelier and coordinating sconces for ambient lighting. Two tufted velvet sofas speak to the character of the house and the large bold art and sculpted green wool rug – all furnishings came from Plum + Crimson Interior Design which gave the room the pop of color it needs.
Note: Plum and Crimson Fine Interior Design is a sponsor of The Daily Planet Arthur. They will be detailing the processes of other transformations of rooms, and sometimes entire houses, about once a month. They are located at 5 Spring Street, Saratoga Springs.
