SARATOGA SPRINGS – Everyone has their favorite aspect about this event. And there are several to choose from:
– The good work the Cantina Kids Fun Run does on behalf of pediatric programs at Saratoga Hospital
– The pre-race hoopla and anticipation
– The “just plain-old general feelgood” of the morning. No one who walks in grumpy for whatever reason will stay that way for long!
These are some of the reasons why today is such a good day. I am sure that you have many others.
What struck me on this day, as I watched kids finish and get their medals, was that the appeal is in the event’s inclusiveness.
All young runners are welcome.
But all generations can participate in a shared experience that represents goodness, and society at its best.
We need more days like this.
