LAKE GEORGE – Camp Moki is a weeklong family Camp, provided free of charge, located at the Bear’s Den on beautiful Lake George. Camp Moki serves families who have a child or family member that has a special need or a life-threatening illness. The Camp is named after a very special donor, who helps to make these life-changing experiences possible. It is a name she is called by her grandchildren.
In conjunction with the Upstate NY Autism Awareness organization and Kids Need More, Camp TLC has developed a model that provides families, who have children with special needs or a life threatening illness, an overnight family camp experience. While the parents enjoy activities such as yoga, painting classes or are enjoying the peacefulness of the Lake, their children excel at Camp through activities that help to develop their social skills.
Sessions are designed to work with each camper’s sensory issues. Special events include a Petting Zoo, Horse Rides, Graffiti Party and the Showcase of Talents.
Camp TLC designed this program to give families a week of recreational experience on Lake George and the opportunity to see camp through their child’s prospective. Enjoy Camp classes with your child or take some time to meet and visit with other families attending Camp.
Camp is free of charge to all participating families. Dinner will be provided daily. Each cabin has a full bathroom and kitchenette. Gift cards will be provided to offset the cost of breakfast and lunch.
Experiences include:
– Camper classes (dance, art, music) and
– Family experiences such as miniature golf, swimming, boat cruises, etc.
The results are miraculous:
