SARATOGA SPRINGS – Oh, what a shame! Nobody came…
Actually, this is the event that each year manages to make Tokyo at rush hour look idyllic and pastoral.
Welcome to the Night at the Brewseum! Friday evening, April 22nd. An event administered by the Saratoga Springs Lions’ Club – which has a well-deserved rep for putting on the most creative, all-around ‘funnest’ events in town. This was no exception – and tonight’s event benefitted the New York State Military Museum on Lake Avenue… which was the site of previous Brewseums, but they outgrew it with ease (though the Military Museum is hardly tiny!), necessitating the move to the Canfield Casino.
I heard this phrase several times tonight: “This is the one I look forward to all year!” That pretty much says it all. These Lions and Military folks sure know how to turn out the troops. A big salute of gratitude all around!

Note: Some of the photos in this section were provided courtesy of fabulous Gail Carmichael Stein – she of the great Saratoga.com photo blog (see: https://www.saratoga.com/frozen-moments/)> Thank you Gail!
On a night where everyone was a winner – with all the great food, beer, wine and cider available – we give a special salute to those who had the presence of mind to put down their pint glasses and buy some raffle tickets from these lovelies:
Kudos to Ms. Erica Ferri, who grabbed the winnine 50/50 raffle and netted $550!
Others who won raffles for authentic Military blankets representing the branches of our armed forces were Laura Mann (Marines); Denise Durfee (Army);Robert Van Belt (Air Force) and Scott Ciamta (Navy). C’mon down!

And now, my friends – back to the beverages!
All in all: An event not to be missed – a statement which well over 1,000 people took literally. Brewseum: Accept no substitute!
