SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saturday Night Party Central… A few fun stops on tonight’s dance card…
Future Kings
My first stop was at Kings Tavern – where a fab chili cook-off was winding down… I was out all day and my camera was home, so those pics will have to wait a few days when they come from the organizers. But this was a well-attended event to benefit Saratoga RACE – which is a group of charities, such as the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, that benefit racehorses after they are retired for the track… Kudos to the Hungry Spot for grabbing the top spot, and also to Kevin Murphy of RACE, a ton of volunteers and Host Kings Tavern for putting on Saturday afternoon’s festivities. More on this later.
So, having secured my camera, off we go to:
Double Birthday at Blue Agave!
On Saturday, Blue Agave Restaurant (See Website here) was packed with fiesta-minded folk celebrating it’s First Anniversary – Bueno! And, compounding the Bueno was that a group of cool people, organized by super cool Allison Bradley was having a celebration for fab Maggie Quinn’s birthday. Mui mas Bueno!
Yes, the beard is real… if you are saying “what beard?” the answer is Blue Agave’s “Mostest Hostess” Emily Stevens
I guess the expression goes: When in Oaxaca, dress like the Oaxacans!
Birthday party host Allison Bradley and guest of honor Maggie Quinn!
The tunes for this fiesta was provided by the prolific and versatile Jeff Brisbin. Even though Jeff plays 9 days a week, he still manages to register one or two people at every gig who come up to me and say: “Who is that guy? He’s terrific!” One big key to Jeff’s success is his playlist: if you don’t like 500 songs on that list, he’s got 500 more that you will like…. plus, he’s just a nice guy. Give him a few tunes, and he will touch your heart with his singing – even in a noisy, festive restaurant…OLE` to that!

Eternally Grateful
Onward. Gratefully Yours is a revolving All-Star line up of Grateful Dead inspired musicians that hail from throughout the Northeast. Visit their website here. Their are many Dead cover/tribute bands – your Uncle Vito is probably in one with his Lodge buddies – but whey they come to Putnam Den, it’s always a treat.
And THAT, my friends is the Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion! And a wrap for me – see you next time.
