Saratoga Arts Awards $97,800 in Arts Funding
SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Arts has announced the recipients of the 2017 Community Arts Grants for organizations and individual artists in Fulton, Montgomery, and Saratoga Counties. Grants totaling $97,800 have been awarded to support 29 organizations and artists coordinating community-based arts events in 2017.
With funding that it is awarded from the New York State Council on the Arts, since 1991, Saratoga Arts has awarded $1,243,800 to support local organizations coordinating community-enhancing and life-enriching arts programs in Fulton, Montgomery, and Saratoga Counties.
From Fort Hunter (Montgomery County, NY) where the Friends of Schoharie Crossing coordinate an annual storytelling series located on a portion of Old “Clinton’s Ditch” Erie Canal, called, Not Just For Kids Storytelling; to Clifton Park (Southern Saratoga County, NY) for Not So Common Player’s dinner theater production of The Women in My Life, this year’s grant awardees represent a wide array of local arts and cultural organizations from around the Fulton-Montgomery-Saratoga Region coordinating free or low-cost public arts events that an estimated 37,000 people, a figure that includes both audience members and nearly 800 regional-based performing and exhibiting artists, will enjoy and participate in.
To celebrate the 2017 Recipients, Saratoga Arts is holding a Grant Awards Reception on April 6, 2017, 6pm-8pm. The public is invited to attend. RSVP Here.
