Back-to-back MVB Crowns For Ravenswood’s Favorite at 20th Bartenders’ Ball
SARATOGA SPRINGS — Before a crowd of 600+, which stylishly swelled the main ballroom of the Saratoga Springs City Center, the 20th Bartenders’ Ball, to benefit CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services saw a crowd favorite repeat as Most Valuable Bartender (MVB). Patty Mueller from the popular Ravenswood Pub of Clifton Park (visit http://www.ravenswoodpub.com/ ) received a won a Celebrity Caribbean Cruise for two as part of her award.
Out of the 600 attendees, a big, big contingent of supporters, henceforth to be known as “Patty’s Posse,” appeared to explode out of their table seatings as the back-to-back winner was announced. Upbeat dance band Grand Central Station picked up on that vibe and elevated it to a continuous dance party for several hours, while guests dined, wined and just generally felt divine. As is usual at the Bartenders’ Ball, this was again an on-time, festive and late-staying crowd.
And there were many winners tonight. Here’s the complete list — hot off the presses from CAPTAIN’s Wendy Page:
MVB (Most Valuable Bartender) contest:
1st place – Patty Mueller of Ravenswood.
2nd place – PeggySue Sherman of The Mill on Round Lake
3rd place – Donna Snay of the Rusty Nail
– Winner of the raffle in The CAPTAIN’s Lounge: Nicole McKinney from Ballston Spa. She receives a package of golf for 4 at Saratoga National, 4 box seats at the track, and $250 towards dinner at Saratoga National.
– Winner of the cruise raffle: Donna Smith of Clifton Park. Like Patty, she won a Celebrity Caribbean Cruise for two. (Wonder if Patty and Donna know each other?) Hmmm….
But one piece of interesting backstory is that Donna Smith was not in attendance when her raffle win was announced, so it was up to Sue Catroppa and Wendy Page from CAPTAIN to call her with the good news… This Planet Arthur exclusive photo shows the call as it happened. It’s the little things that become the big things that add up to a winner. Isn’t that right, Ms. Patty?
Congrats to all, and to CAPTAIN (visit https://captaincares.org/ ) CAPTAIN Youth and Family Services supports and empowers youth, adults and families on their journeys to personal growth and self-sufficiency.
