In today’s society values are something that the majority
of Americans seem to possess very little of.

Its a shame that values can’t be purchased while out shopping
at the mall, then everyone and their mother might have some values to spare.

Can you imagine a two for the price of one sale on values? NOW THATS A BARGAIN!

American’s mistakenly believe that values like table manners are something only to
be brought out when company comes over for dinner.

As one of the few individual that does not own a cell phone, I cannot tell you how many times I have been in public with someone who continually and obsessively
answers their phone and then has the audacity to make NO effort to get off their phone even though I was in the middle of what I mistakenly thought was a meaningful conversation, and yet when I try calling this person I frequently get the voicemail even though I know that this particular individual is simply choosing not to answer.

What makes this scenario even more insulting is when I am meeting this person in public and need to know where to meet them and still…. they do not answer the phone. Especially given the fact that they are aware that I do not have a cell phone.

It’s rude and it’s the epitome of “It’s All About Me” mentality which is pandemic in our culture.

I find that people who are obsessively on the phone in public are rather insecure because it means that they are unable to be alone with themselves. How sad. It also means that they are unable to be in the present moment. Even sadder.
