There’s a town-wide tag sale in Hoosick Falls and Salem this weekend…but there’s more going on for those who look a bit closer. From noon until 2pm there is the famous Salem Firemen’s Chicken Barbeque. (You’ll smell it cooking when you come into town.) They put what frankly looks like 5w30 oil on the chicken then cradle it between two large metal frames with handles and strong men with thick gloves flip it half way through. The result is the best barbeque chicken you’ve ever had and I’m not joking. Right next door at the Bancroft Library there is a bake sale and a plant sale and starting at 10 there’s a Farmer’s Market – with Music! You know how…when you go to other Farmer’s Markets…you see many of the farmers are from the Battenkill Valley? Well here in Salem you can see them on their home turf. So there’s more to a Town Wide Tag Sale than you thought…and you shouldn’t miss any of it! See you this weekend!
