Hamlet & Ghost, a beloved staple in Saratoga Springs, is expanding its culinary family with a new sister restaurant—Familiar Creature—set to open this holiday season on Phila Street. Drawing inspiration from Montreal’s relaxed dining scene, Familiar Creature aims to redefine the traditional wine bar experience.

Executive Chef Michele Hunter, who brings experience from Hamlet & Ghost, The Adelphi Hotel, Yono’s, and Chez Nous Bistro, shared her vision with Saratoga Living: “We really want to take the stuffiness out of the idea of a ‘wine bar.’”

The space will be laid-back and communal, with no reservations and walk-in only service. Familiar Creature will be perfect for both quick visits and leisurely dinners.

The menu will highlight approachable yet decadent fare, including local meats and cheeses, roasted chicken, and French small plates. To complement the food, Familiar Creature offers an impressive selection of wines ranging from trendy natural wines to timeless global favorites, local beers on tap, creative spritzes, and more.

Now hiring cooks for the kitchen, Familiar Creature is ready to bring a fresh, inclusive, and delicious experience to Saratoga Springs. Keep an eye on Phila Street for the Spa City’s newest dining gem!
